The rooms are just like what you would find in most of the "western world," and they are air conditioned. You WILL want air conditioning, as Bangkok is the steamiest place on earth! Go to for more details, but according to this webpage, the current rate for a single, standard room is 1350 Baht. At the current exchange rate (1 USD=38 THB), the cost for one night is $35.52. (Possibly not typically used for sleeping I suspect). Taxi transportation to other hotels that you would expect would be close to the Airport is often longer than you would expect due to the traffic and lack of turnarounds on the roads. If your transit time is less than 8 hours, consider getting a relaxing 2 hour Thai massage at the airport, longer if you ask for "Special Services" The hotel at the airport is over $100 a night although at one time they had a $25 special for just a few hours.
