Never heard of that hotel but if it’s in the city it’s about 25 mins drive from the old airport. Will the new one be open by then? If so, add another 20 minutes drive.
On some of the book-a-hotel sites they allow users to post their experiences of the hotels they’ve stayed in. Check out those sites for a review.

Don’t stay anywhere far from the attractions. It is really hard to get around by car in Bangkok. Actually impossible. One time I needed to get back to my hotel and I told the cab driver he just laughed at me and drove off! Traffic there is horrendous.

Inexpensive, Clean and safe….and usually includes good breakfast buffet. Try the Malaysia Hotel. It’s a gem of a bargain.

Why don’t you try the Pathumwan Princess Hotel? It’s located adjacent to one of the biggest shopping malls in Bangkok, Mah Boon Krung. The hotel is also near the light rail train stations. And i think it’s just 45 minutes from the old airport (it’s not new, sorry). Oh by the way, don’t be duped by the TukTuk taxis offering cheaper fares - when you get to your destinations, you’d be asked for triple the fare they offered. Also, be wary of those guys who offer those sex shows at super cheap prices, they’re the biggest con-men at the night market. Be sure to know the nearest mobile police station. Thais don’t speak much English, so better learn some few words for haggling prices. Also, Thais revere their King, please don’t ever disrespect him. And before I forget, if you plan to visit temples, wear socks and bring a small bag for your shoes, don’t leave it behind; otherwise, you’ll be going home, well, shoe-less, sometimes. Have a safe trip!

I would just give Cham G the 10 points. I’m planning to go to Thailand for the first time and those are very solid tips.
Often when you travel it is not knowing what to do but what not to do that will make the difference.
